Idents


DreamWorks


Over the years the Ident of the production studio DreamWorks has changed to be more active and less passive. This is shown through it's adaptation to the film it is presenting by either putting their Ident in the theme of the film they are presenting e.g. for the Shrek film The letter s was changed to look and have the same exact ears as Shrek the ogre. This as result tells me that the production studio DreamWorks is very related to the films they produce and want to make a connection with each one they produce. DreamWorks shows this by putting their Ident in the theme or style of the film they have produced. DreamWorks jingle has also changed in variation to match some of the films that they've produced mainly in an attempt to highlight the connection they have with they have produced. In conclusion DreamWorks is represented as a production studio which will be able to connect it's audience to a dream.

MGM

This production studios Logo has used a lion to represent the companies dominance over other production studios. The lion shows this as it is known as the king of the beast. This suggest that MGM is presenting it's power against other production studios. At first the Logo was not gold however it was later decided that it would be permanently gold. As you may know the gold colour represents treasure which as a result was used to tell the audience that their production company was the most exquisite and the Latin helped to emphasis MGM's unique prestige. In conclusion the MGM production studio has been presented to be a company that strives to be and probably is one of the top production studios for films. The name of the production studio is Metro Goldwyn Mayer.



BBC

BBC's Ident has changed tremendously from it's beginning at 1980 to 2002 there first Ident had the text BBC VIDEO on it. A couple years later BBC's Ident gained more detail and it's animation became more smooth and more appealing. BBC's early Ident's had the same pattern of colours each time until a few years later they decided to experiment with an entirely new concept. This concept was different from there original ideas but it wasn't very unique. Let's say that BBC had used the planet similar to Universal's Ident which wasn't very smart as it didn't look as impressive as Universals. On the other hand they later decided to scrap that Idea and went simple and plain. A few years after that BBC's logo became more flat and more modern, it had smooth colours and animations and it looked more original then their previous ideas. In my opinion BBC's Ident represents it's diversity, I believe this because BBC has a range of colours in it's Ident and because it is more unique than most Ident's that I have seen today. I can surely say this because I can tell BBC's Ident in plain sight.

Film 4

Film 4's Ident highlights it's number 4 very broadly. It uses very bold and flat text in it's Ident and in the background there is usually a situation we can see in our present day life's. Of course This wasn't how films4's ident was in the beginning before it was just a still image and a white text with the numbers and words film 4. As you can tell by my description film 4's Ident wasn't very interesting during it's early days however after the years Film 4's Ident's have obtained more life and has incorporated a more unique and active looking ident. In conclusion I believe Film 4 has used a clip of life in it's background to signify that Film 4 is everywhere and to state it's available for anyone and that everyone will need it in there lives.
